There are many activities in New Braunfels and every month there will be new events and festivities for you to enjoy. If you love to walk, then stroll over to the Faust Street Walk Bridge on the Guadalupe River. You can also visit the Schlitterbahn Waterpark and Resort, which was named the World’s Best Waterpark by Amusement Today.

You can also discover the 70-acre action sports park known as Texas Ski Ranch. Here you can take part in numerous activities such as wakeboarding, snowboarding and skateboarding. Last but not least, there is always fishing, boating, tubing, swimming, and kayaking on the pristine waters of the Comal and Guadalupe Rivers.

If you like to shop, enjoy the Prime Outlets at San Marcos, or visit any one of the variety of quaint shops all over the city. The Gruene Historic District, located within New Braunfels, is where you can dine amongst the ruins of the original Gristmill, where grains were turned into flour. For music-lovers, there is live music at Gruene Hall.

There is also no shortage of festivals to not only entertain, but also inform. This includes Wurstfest (a salute to sausage), and the Wassailfest at holiday-time. If you like car shows, folk festivals, Broadway theatre, jamborees, rodeos, or biker rallies on the river, look no further than New Braunfels, Texas, as there is something for everyone to enjoy.

Also, New Braunfels offers a variety of outdoors amusement venues. There is Rockin' R River Rides and Little Ponderosa River Outfitters for fun in the sun. Landa Park Golf Course at Comal Springs, or The Bandit Golf Club, if you are looking to hit the links. For those that love exercise and nature, Mountain Breeze Campground and Outfitters will make sure you are set up for hiking in the Texas Hill Country, enjoying all of nature's natural limestone outcroppings and beautiful sunsets. Lastly, do not forget Canyon Lake, where the views are beautiful, the marina is stunning, and you can take a stroll around the dam.

If you are looking to dive into Texas culture, bring your children to McKenna Children's Museum, or The Sophienburg, where displays and artifacts depicting the history of New Braunfels are housed. You can also visit the Museum of Handmade Furniture, or for extra fun, the New Braunfels Railroad Museum.

New Braunfels Ghost Tours and Spass Walking Tours of New Braunfels will have you seeing the city in a whole new light. They are great ways to find out everything you want to learn about local history. If you are looking for some European flair to go along with your Texas charm, then visit downtown New Braunfels where 'friendly' and 'helpful' are not just buzz words, but a way of life. Do not leave out the Faust Street Bridge or the New Braunfels Conservation Society, a beautiful historical village lovingly preserved throughout the years.

For wine lovers, you can participate in a wine-tasting at Dry Comal Creek Vineyards and be sure to stop by Vineyard at Gruene. New Braunfels also has several selections of delicious and varied restaurants to offer. From tea rooms to Asian bistros and sushi bars to New York style pizza. There will be something for everyone’s tastes. You will want to be sure to visit the Gruene River Grill, Clear Springs Restaurant to the Gristmill River Restaurant and Bar, as well as the Huisache Grill.

Add all of these local attractions, shops and restaurants to the rolling hills, towering oak trees, stacked rock walls, and the bluebonnet wildflowers in the Texas Hill Country, and it is easy to see why New Braunfels is the perfect place to call home.
